My Learning Garden – Back to School Reflection & Getting-to-Know-You Activity

Start the school year with connection, confidence and creativity!

My Learning Garden is a fun back-to-school activity designed to help students reflect on themselves as learners while building classroom community. This resource pairs beautifully with Rose Meets Mr Wintergarten by Bob Graham (but also works perfectly on its own).

Students complete their own “learning garden” by sharing:

• Their name
• Their age
• Their favourite colour, food and hobby
• What they are good at
• What they want to get better at
• A self-portrait in the garden window

It’s the perfect first-week activity for introducing goal setting in a child-friendly way.
